Mushrooms on tree

Trout LilyThe trout lilly blooms in early spring. It is named for it's speckled leaves and grows in damp forests or near the edge of the woods.

Dying trout lillies
Unlike most flowering plants, the leaves of the trout lilly plant die after it flowers. This picture was taken in early June.


Wintergreen
Wintergreen is a small evergreen plant that likes dry areas of the woods. It's flowers were just about to open when this one was discovered in early June.
