A dead tree covered by mushrooms, aiding the process of decomposition.

Spores were released from the holes in the the underside of one of the mushrooms.
The trout lilly blooms in early spring. It is named for it's speckled leaves and grows in damp forests or near the edge of the woods.
Unlike most flowering plants, the leaves of the trout lilly plant die after it flowers. This picture was taken in early June.
Wintergreen is a small evergreen plant that likes dry areas of the woods. It's flowers were just about to open when this one was discovered in early June.
